Sutro Health is a company with the bright idea to get all doctors on the same page. The project involved developing interaction models, user task flow, and UI specifications with end-to-end experience in mind.
Sutro Health is being user-tested by small populations of medical residencies across the nation. The Sutro Health team needed a labile product that was easy to build, tweak, and maintain through the first rounds of feedback. The design was striped back to bold colors and clean lines, keeping user comprehension at the top of the priority list.
The challenge of designing for medical staffs in their reluctancy to deviate from established paradigms of the past several decades. We worked tirelessly at the prototyping stage and beyond to define task flows, communication scenarios, and end-to-end design in order to deliver a product that is highly user-centric.
Some concept illustrations I made for Gumroad, a local start up named by Fast Company as one of the top 50 most innovative companies in the world (2015). They work to connect digital artists of all varieties to their audiences by streamlining the buying and selling experience. I used an astronaut, cowboy, and scuba diver to illustrate the breadth of their audience base while also trying to express the diversity of product offered, from leisure entertainment material to useful software. This illustrations and banner copy would animate between each other.
After becoming a member of the Trade Winds Sailing Club I gave myself the challenge of redesigning and creating a mobile boat reservation system. While the current Trade Winds website is full of sailing community blogs and information, the mobile reservation app was begging to be simplified. Upon opening the app the user would be greeted with their upcoming boat reservation and the most up-to-date sailing conditions. The user would also be able to make reservations, explore the boats of the Trade Winds fleet, maintain their Captains Log, and report any issues with the boats.
IKIKN is "a blog about nothing in particular", exploring mathematic and logic topics though interactive puzzles and in depth solution exploration. I provide general branding and webpage design as well as a collection of illustrations for each post.

The family that brought us the Haight Street Market and the Noriega Produce Market is changing their name (not their values) and opening a new location in the Mission Neighborhood in San Francisco. A complete redesign of the existing branding is underway at Rubber Design. We are as excited about the design as we are about the location – directly across the street.

A fresh take on takeaway, Proper Food is a new fast-casual food and beverage concept that offers wholesome grab-and-go fare for breakfast and lunch. Rubber Design was there from square one— from naming, creating brand identity, positioning, packaging and signage, as well as designed and produced various brand pieces for use online and in the retail store.
SOMA Eats is a modern cafe and high end bottle shop in the heart of downtown San Francisco boasting bright, global flavors for breakfast, lunch, and happy hour, along with a carefully curated collection of beer and wine, as well as a high-end liquor library. Rubber Design created brand identity, positioning, signage, as well as designed and produced various brand pieces for use online and in the retail store.
High atop the Turnbull Vineyard in Napa Valley sits a very special block where the ground is steep, the rows are rocky, and the grapes struggle. It is these harsh conditions that give Pierra Cabernet Sauvignon it's signature qualities. Rubber Design was asked to design a bottle for distribution to select members of Turnbull's exclusive wine club. The illustration is a vine clutched around the rock that sits on display at the entrance of the vineyard.
I met Chuck (Bass Player) backpacking the Norwegian backcountry. Back in the states we find time to catch up, usually when his band Dopapod is touring. After seeing them play for the first time it became my minor life mission to illustrate the band members and capture their imbued funkiness.
Just an illustration I did in my free time for absolutely no reason. You can find all the secondary characters hidden in the crowd
